This project was to make a multifunctional car cup holder adapter for children. I usually start my design process in 2D. I got my start as a graphic designer so I am very comfortable in graphic design software. This step allows for rapid ideation and brainstorming. I often use the 2D stage to flush out major dimensions. I reference these 2D drawings when making my 3D design. The device can fit in a car cup holder and acts as a car tray for children. A passthrough cup holder allows the cupholder to be used at the same time as the tray. I designed a lid so that the device can be used as a tupperware for parents to transport food for children which can be removed once in the car. A special insert transforms this device into a mobile drawing station for kids. This allows them to access crayons much easier than a traditional crayon box.
